The birth of Toukaya originated from the founder Emily Wu Huijing , her passion for wagashi, and mission to spread Japanese culture. While studying in Japan, she deeply realized the essence of wagashi's fusion of art and aesthetics. After returning to Taiwan, she founded「唐和家 Toukaya Sweet」, focusing on making high quality traditional Japanese desserts. Every piece of wagashi is lovingly hand-made to reflect the ultimate in truth, goodness, and beauty, and to convey happiness and warmth.

Now, Toukaya  has flourished into a big tree, nourishing each wagashi with love and care, spreading seeds of cultural depth. Ms. Emily Wu has also created a Teacher Training Course to share Toukaya's experience and wisdom with future generations. Rather than deliberately looking for students, Ms. Emily prefers to go with the flow and wait for like-minded individuals willing to preserve and carry on the craft of wagashi-making.
