【Original】Tung Blossom きりの花 Kiri no hana

Flower language: The beginning of love

Dancing Tung Blossoms in summer, let's enjoy spring tea together

No need to bring any food, unless it's Toukaya

Enjoying the time, with snow falling all day

Smilingly asking what it resembles, like smoke from a cooking fire, wafting through a mountain house

Emily Sensei says:

Tung blossoms are divided into male and female. The one with red in the middle is the male flower and the yellow is the female. Because of this interesting fact, I created this pair of Tung blossoms. The contrasting color of the male flower is more prominent and beautiful. In the past, because the Japanese furniture market required a large amount of sycamore wood, Taiwan planted a large number of sycamore trees, but they were infected with the leaf cluster disease commonly known as "Tengu's Nest". Speculative farmers began to breed Tung trees that were similar to the sycamore tree and sold them as substitutes. Naturally, this ploy was discovered by the shrewd Japanese. Since then, the Tung trees were abandoned in the mountains and became wild trees. It is also due to this beautiful mistake that "May Snow" was created, and we can see the Tung blossoms all over the mountains and fields.

Things to note:

  • In order to preserve freshness and prevent collision, Toukaya wagashi is stored in -24°C freezer after production, and is shipped by Black Cat Frozen Home Delivery.
  • Thaw at room temperature for about 40 minutes before eating.
  • Jonamagashi is prone to drying and cracking if exposed to the air for too long. Therefore, it is recommended to keep them in the original transparent packaging box during the thawing process.
  • Jonamagashi can be moved to a plate in the frozen state, and then covered with the original transparent lid. Just remove the lid before eating.
