Young bamboo refers to tender bamboo shoots that have not yet grown into tall bamboo groves. It is unassuming, but its appearance signifies the approaching end of spring and the beginning of summer. Young bamboo grows straight, steadily, quietly, and rapidly. Its hollow interior and distinct joints are seen as a symbol of a clear mind and an untainted spirit. Young bamboo is also "soft yet strong," able to bend in the wind without breaking; its flexibility holds its own direction. It is a symbol of youth, hope, and future prospects, making it suitable for occasions signifying "blessings, beginnings, and new stages."

Things to note:

  • In order to preserve freshness and prevent collision, Toukaya wagashi is stored in -24°C freezer after production, and is shipped by Black Cat Frozen Home Delivery.
  • Thaw at room temperature for about 40 minutes before eating.
  • Jonamagashi is prone to drying and cracking if exposed to the air for too long. Therefore, it is recommended to keep them in the original transparent packaging box during the thawing process.
  • Jonamagashi can be moved to a plate in the frozen state, and then covered with the original transparent lid. Just remove the lid before eating.
