Jonamagashi じょうなまがし

Jonamagashi is a fresh food made of bean paste. It is a high-quality and high-priced Japanese confectionery with a moisture content of more than 30%. It should be consumed within two to three days.

Luxurious delicacies among ancient royal families and aristocrats, wagashi combines the "four seasons" and the "five elements" to form edible poetry. Modern Japanese tea parties are still themed according to the seasons, in the name of romance. Wagashi is an indispensable supporting role in tea parties of the literati. Toukaya carries on the exquisite craftsmanship of ancient civilizations and uses wagashi to express abstract designs such as landscapes, flowers and birds. Made from pure natural white bean paste and glutinous rice flour, the low-sugar and oil-free nerikiri dough and bean paste filling has an elegant fragrance, delicate and soft, it melts in your mouth.

Things to note:

  • In order to preserve freshness and prevent collision, Toukaya wagashi is stored in -30°C rapid freezer after production, and is shipped by Black Cat Frozen Home Delivery.
  • Thaw at room temperature for about 40 minutes before eating.
  • Jonamagashi is prone to drying and cracking if exposed to the air for too long. Therefore, it is recommended to keep them in the original transparent packaging box during the thawing process.
  • Jonamagashi can be moved to a plate in the frozen state, and then covered with the original transparent lid. Just remove the lid before eating.

Rakugan らくがん

Specially selected sugar and Japanese kanbaiko (cooked glutinous rice powder), is kneaded together, then firmly packed into finely-carved Japanese wooden molds and pressed into shape, (melts in the mouth similar to Taiwanese Phoenix-Eye Cake). Dainty and easy to eat, the size of a single piece is about 3x3cm. Usually, one piece is served with a bowl of matcha (similar to the concept of a cup of coffee with a sugar cube).

※Wagashi is handmade on-site, and production takes 3 to 4 working days, excluding holidays. If there are large orders, it will take 5 to 6 working days. For large orders (more than 15 boxes), please order one month in advance.
